The Rhode Island Young Professionals (RIYP)is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization that is an auxiliary to the Urban League of Rhode Island. The organization was formed in the winter of 2002, as an outlet to unite Rhode Island’s young professionals between the ages of 21 and 40. RIYP works two fold, to 1. Provide its members with exclusive networking activities, workshops, and resources that foster their personal and professional development, and 2. Develop and implement services, programs, and projects that are essential to empowering and enriching the state’s communities.

6th Annual Winter Soiree & Silent Art Auction:
“Reinvesting in Rhode Island”
RIYP will host its’ 6th Annual WinterSoiree on Saturday, January 31,
2009 at 6:00pm at the Providence Marriott on Orms Street,
Providence RI. Antonio DaSilva, Consumer Market Executive Rhode
Island Market, Bank of America will be the keynote speaker for the
evening. Mr. DaSilva is a native Rhode Islander and has worked at
Bank of America since 2000. He startedat Bank of America as a
consumer banker and he now overseas all of the Bank of America call
centers in Rhode Island. Dr. Warren Simmons, Executive Director,
Annenberg Institute for School Reform at Brown University will serve
as the master of ceremonies.

This evening will include a silent auction, followed by dinner. In
addition, several awards will be presented to community leaders for
their commitment to uplifting and empowering our communities. To

2009 YOUNG PROFESSIONALS WINTER GETAWAY!
Join RIYP and other Young Professionals from Rhode Island to Richmond, VA as we converge on the Eisenhower Allstar Resort in Gettysburg, PA for a Winter Weekend Getaway. There will be a plethora of activities to engage in including: live performances from Musiq Soulchild and Keith Sweat; beginner to expert level ski lessons; 4 all you can eat meals; 14 hours of premium open bar; various other activities. (Ski lessons fee not included)
The total cost of the trip ranges from $369 to $389 per person, depending on the size of the room requested. A $100 is due to RSVP! Next payment is due in December and the balance and final payment due January 2009.
Busses depart from RI on Friday, February 27th, 2009 at 3:00pm from the Urban League of RI (246 Prarie Avenue, Providence, RI 02905) and return the evening of Sunday March 1st, 2009. For more information contact [email protected]
